Summertime Fine: Tricks and Tips

Hey all! I am writing to you all from the comfort of my mommy’s bed (lol) with another one of my how-to posts. This post isn’t going to be your typical “how to put a dope ass outfit together” blog; instead, I am going to share a few simple tips and tricks that will come in handy for the summer to insure that you are summertime fine from start to finish!

Chub Rub:

As a proud owner of some pretty bodacious thighs, having them out in the summer is a must. However, with thick thighs, constant rubbing can can be painful and irritable. To combat this, use an anti-perspirant deodorant on the inside of your thighs before you get dressed. This will reduce the sweat and give a silky coat so that when thighs rub against each other, there is less irritation.

Thigh Bumps:

Sometimes we get those irritable bumps on parts of our body that rub. They are hard and sometimes painful and look like a pimple with no “head”. This is basically from the friction of the skin rubbing, in addition to the sweat and dirt. To reduce bump sizes, use a facial cleanse (I like Clean and Clear) and apply a dab to the bump at night before bed. This will reduce the size and irritation of the bump.

Boob Sweat: 

For those who can’t afford to let the “girls” roam free this summer, baby powder is a must! Wearing a bra limits the air that gets to the breast area-namely the cleavage-so it becomes more prone to sweat and odor. After showering, sprinkle a little baby powder between and under your breast to minimize boob sweat!

The Shoe Problem:

Unfortunately, as plus size women, we sometimes draw the short straw with shoes. A lot of times, our sizes aren’t in abundance or there is no wide fit of that must-have shoe. If you ever end up having to wear a shoe that may be giving you a little pain or discomfort, apply some “Tigerbalm” to the feet or irritated area and it will numb out the discomfort!

Keeping it Tight:

Last tip: for those trying to keep their bodies flushed and by extension give it a slightly slimmer appeal, drink water with lemon in it. Lemon increases metabloism, acts as a diuretic and can reduce bloating! Drink in place of high-calorie drinks and it can be a weight lose aid!
