Hey ladies! Welcome to June (it’s my birthday month!!!), the official beginning of summer! It’s time for cookouts, girl’s night out, beach trips, and vacations, poolside drinks, and late night dates. No matter what your plans are this summer, the one thing you know you’ll need is an outfit as amazing as you and your plans, so in order to make sure you are your flyest at all times, here is my lookbook of 7 must-have pieces for your plus size closet!
- The Maxi Dress
At the center of every closet you will find “The Maxi Dress”. This dress is sexy, in a subtle way, compliments your body and ‘breaths’ in the hot summer weather. It is chill enough for daytime wear, yet classy enough to dress up for those ‘after 6’ occassions.
2. The Crop Top
Everyone has a favorite shirt, why not let it show a little skin. Whether it be a strappy lace up, a sultry halter or just your favorite basic tee with a small front/side knot, a crop top can provide an edgy, fun look that speaks volumes about your confidence!
3. The Shorts
Those shorts, that make you stand in the mirror backwards to admire how good your ass looks (yes, we all have them!) Cheekies, bermudas, distressed, or linen, invest in a good pair of shorts that make you (and your booty) feel great!

For the days or occassions when you want a more basic look or you don’t have the energy to get dolled up, statement jewlery can take your outfit from a 5 to a 10! Of course it’s summer so we want our feet out, but nothing is sexier than the strappy sandal. It gives a mature, sexy look and can dress up even the most urban outfits! Get them low, mid calf, knee high, and for date night-thigh-high with a cute short dress!
7. The Bathing Suit
Last, but not least, the bathing suit. As plus size women this can be the best or worst shopping trip in preparation for summer. But never fear, there are so many places (in store and online) that carry bathing suits for plus size women! So whether you are a two piece kinda girl or the you love a good one piece with a dope design, make sure you put the cherry on top your summer plans with the perfect swimsuit.
